MATIS AP (Advanced Payload)
3 rd Generation Cooled Thermal Imager
MATIS AP is an advanced thermal
imager using a 640x512 detector
and a continuous zoom.
It is one of the four versions of the
MATIS family, designed for
applications requiring a
combination of compactness and
advanced capabilities, such as
carrier integration for
observation, recognition,
identification and fire control on
land, in the air or at sea.
MATIS AP benefits from Sagem
Défense Sécurité’s wide experience
in 3rd generation 3-5µm thermal
imagers, ensuring high quality,
reliability and cost-efficiency
throughout the life-cycle.
MATIS AP is designed for integration
into a gyro-stabilized gimbal or a
sighting system, in particular for
airborne applications such as
helicopters, planes or UAVs.
Performance depends on meteorological conditions.
The large matrix of the MATIS AP
and its NETD of 35mK (at maximum
integration time) provide
unsurpassed picture quality with no
compromise between situational
awareness and range. With the
continuous zoom, there is no loss of
image during the change of field of
view, which brings tracking capacity
and comfort of use, whereas the
three different speeds for zooming
enable quick and precise adjustment
of field of view. When using the
minimum field of view, it has
excellent boresight stability and a
secondary image stabilization
capacity, using gyrometric data from
the host system (option).
The advanced image processing
features an anti-blooming function
for missile launching applications,
and delivers an optimized image
in a wide variety of situations.
MATIS AP has three focus modes -
autofocus, automatic set at infinity
and manual - all athermalized.
MATIS AP is ready to be integrated
in a host system, which will provide
protection against the elements.
The analog and digital video give
flexibility for the integration, in
particular with High-Definition day
cameras. Thanks to its two remote
controls (RS 422 and Ethernet as an
option), MATIS AP can interact with
the most simple interface as well
as the most advanced one.
MATIS AP is fully qualified according
to military standards and is able to
