Events Management
St Francis de Sales College
Would you like to be involved in planning and organising a local
event? Then events management is the course for you. Work with
other young adults to plan and organise the ‘Adelaide Hills Youth
Expo’. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain and develop skills and
knowledge about how to work within your local community to use
people resources to provide services to others.
Students will engage in both practical event management principles
through coordination of the event and at the same time receive
valuable event management education. Skills in communication
will be developed and the opportunity to work in a dynamic team
situation will be provided.
This course provides students with a partial Certificate 3 in
Events Management.

This full year course delivered at The Station in Murray Bridge by
MusicSA is designed to give you an insight into the fascinating beast
that is the music industry focusing on event management. Through
hands on group work you will gain an insight into the world of music
business, exploring areas of creative event(gig) management
including career planning, micro business development and event
logistics and planning, culminating in the delivery of a live music
event. This would include, planning, marketing, promoting, live stage
& sound production. As a part of this program you will work on a
project of managing & booking gigs with the program culminating
in a live music event designed and managed by the students in
your group.

Entertainment and Theatre Technology
Cornerstone College
This semester course is designed to introduce students to the
entertainment industry, particularly the technical skills and equipment
used in live event production. Utilising the school’s well equipped
performance theatre, Atelier, the course involves individual and
group technical theatre activities in a live venue environment.
Throughout the course students develop general industry knowledge,
industry specific safety awareness as well as an understanding of
the planning and scheduling of production technical requirements
including the effective use of sound, lighting and audio equipment
and general knowledge of the bump in/bump out process
and equipment.

Hairdressing and Beauty Services
Unity College
This semester course is designed as an introduction to the Hairdressing
and Beauty Industries giving the student an appreciation of both
industries and outlining the employment pathways. It is designed
to be a practical and fun course conducted in a fully operational
Hairdressing Salon and Day Spa. Students will learn the importance
of customer service, OH&S and gain knowledge about Hairdressing
and Beauty services, products and equipment. Units completed in
this course form part of the Certificate 2 Hairdressing and Certificate
3 in Beauty Services qualifications.
