Events Management<br />

St Francis de Sales College<br />

Would you like to be involved in planning and organising a local<br />

event? Then events management is the course for you. Work with<br />

other young adults to plan and organise the ‘Adelaide Hills Youth<br />

Expo’. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain and develop skills and<br />

knowledge about how to work within your local community to use<br />

people resources to provide services to others.<br />

Students will engage in both practical event management principles<br />

through coordination of the event and at the same time receive<br />

valuable event management education. Skills in communication<br />

will be developed and the opportunity to work in a dynamic team<br />

situation will be provided.<br />

This course provides students with a partial Certificate 3 in<br />

Events Management.<br />

This full year course delivered at The Station in Murray Bridge by<br />

MusicSA is designed to give you an insight into the fascinating beast<br />

that is the music industry focusing on event management. Through<br />

hands on group work you will gain an insight into the world of music<br />

business, exploring areas of creative event(gig) management<br />

including career planning, micro business development and event<br />

logistics and planning, culminating in the delivery of a live music<br />

event. This would include, planning, marketing, promoting, live stage<br />

& sound production. As a part of this program you will work on a<br />

project of managing & booking gigs with the program culminating<br />

in a live music event designed and managed by the students in<br />

your group.<br />

Cornerstone College<br />

This semester course is designed to introduce students to the<br />

entertainment industry, particularly the technical skills and equipment<br />

used in live event production. Utilising the school’s well equipped<br />

performance theatre, Atelier, the course involves individual and<br />

group technical theatre activities in a live venue environment.<br />

Throughout the course students develop general industry knowledge,<br />

industry specific safety awareness as well as an understanding of<br />

the planning and scheduling of production technical requirements<br />

including the effective use of sound, lighting and audio equipment<br />

and general knowledge of the bump in/bump out process<br />

and equipment.<br />

Hairdressing and Beauty Services<br />

Unity College<br />

This semester course is designed as an introduction to the Hairdressing<br />

and Beauty Industries giving the student an appreciation of both<br />

industries and outlining the employment pathways. It is designed<br />

to be a practical and fun course conducted in a fully operational<br />

Hairdressing Salon and Day Spa. Students will learn the importance<br />

of customer service, OH&S and gain knowledge about Hairdressing<br />

and Beauty services, products and equipment. Units completed in<br />

this course form part of the Certificate 2 Hairdressing and Certificate<br />

3 in Beauty Services qualifications.<br />
