Dog Waste Bag Stations have been installed throughout the<br />
community along the side walks. All pet owners are encouraged to<br />
take advantage of this convenience. It is hoped that this will encourage<br />
prior violators to step up and be considerate of their neighbors.<br />
A Vacant Lot Mowing Policy letter with an acknowledgement section<br />
at the bottom has been sent to all vacant lot owners in the Community.<br />
The <strong>Club</strong> requires the acknowledgement to be returned with a YES or<br />
NO as to whether or not the property owner wishes the <strong>Club</strong> to mow<br />
his/her lot. The charge to mow a lot is $55 (3) times yearly, which is<br />
billed to the owners account; the lots are mowed in May, August &<br />
October.<br />
The Vacant Lot letter also asks for a current email address; please<br />
provide this information as this is the primary media for communications<br />
from the <strong>Club</strong> to the Owners.<br />
Vacant Lot Owners are reminded that they are also responsible for the<br />
maintenance and health of the trees on their lots. Many lots have<br />
damaged trees due to insect or other causes; these trees can either fall<br />
and cause damage to property or people, or spread disease to adjoining<br />
trees. Those property owners who live locally should inspect their<br />
lot and take the necessary action to remove damaged trees. The <strong>Club</strong><br />
will also be contacting certain owners who have damaged trees with a<br />
cost to remove the trees by the <strong>Club</strong>.<br />
Contractor Hours per the ARB Design Guidelines call out that the<br />
work hours are 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, Monday through Saturday.<br />
Alligators are out! This spring we had an alligator incident in the<br />
Community that required the Critter Management Company to be<br />
dispatched by the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and the<br />
Gator was shot and killed. The following is a plan of action if a gator<br />
should become a threat or nuisance in the neighborhood according to<br />
the DNR (Department of Natural Resources):<br />
A. DO NOT APPROACH THE GATOR.<br />
B. Call the DNR at 843-844-8957 (Beaufort & Jasper Counties). If<br />
after hours emergency (gator causing problems) call Operation<br />
Game Thief 800-922-5431.<br />
The DNR will dispatch a Wildlife Control Operator to the scene.<br />
Payment to the Control Officer is usually handled by the awarding of<br />
the gator to the Control Contractor for harvesting, but you need to<br />
determine this before hand. The <strong>Club</strong>, per the Design Guidelines, does<br />
not assume any responsibility or cost for removal.<br />
