Community News 12 Please consider the following: By Kevin Fitzpatrick Community Manager 843-815-2567 Kfitzpatrick@wentworthmgt.com Dog Waste Bag Stations have been installed throughout the community along the side walks. All pet owners are encouraged to take advantage of this convenience. It is hoped that this will encourage prior violators to step up and be considerate of their neighbors. A Vacant Lot Mowing Policy letter with an acknowledgement section at the bottom has been sent to all vacant lot owners in the Community. The Club requires the acknowledgement to be returned with a YES or NO as to whether or not the property owner wishes the Club to mow his/her lot. The charge to mow a lot is $55 (3) times yearly, which is billed to the owners account; the lots are mowed in May, August & October. The Vacant Lot letter also asks for a current email address; please provide this information as this is the primary media for communications from the Club to the Owners. Vacant Lot Owners are reminded that they are also responsible for the maintenance and health of the trees on their lots. Many lots have damaged trees due to insect or other causes; these trees can either fall and cause damage to property or people, or spread disease to adjoining trees. Those property owners who live locally should inspect their lot and take the necessary action to remove damaged trees. The Club will also be contacting certain owners who have damaged trees with a cost to remove the trees by the Club. Contractor Hours per the ARB Design Guidelines call out that the work hours are 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, Monday through Saturday. Alligators are out! This spring we had an alligator incident in the Community that required the Critter Management Company to be dispatched by the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and the Gator was shot and killed. The following is a plan of action if a gator should become a threat or nuisance in the neighborhood according to the DNR (Department of Natural Resources): A. DO NOT APPROACH THE GATOR. B. Call the DNR at 843-844-8957 (Beaufort & Jasper Counties). If after hours emergency (gator causing problems) call Operation Game Thief 800-922-5431. The DNR will dispatch a Wildlife Control Operator to the scene. Payment to the Control Officer is usually handled by the awarding of the gator to the Control Contractor for harvesting, but you need to determine this before hand. The Club, per the Design Guidelines, does not assume any responsibility or cost for removal. Community News ~ Services and Clubs 13 WALKING CLUB This group meets weekdays at 8:30 am at the Fitness Center for Community walks. All you need to do is show up! If you are interested in being a part of the on and off community walking group, please contact Harvey Beeferman at harveyhhi@hargray.com or at 843-290-6127. LADIES’ BRIDGE The Hampton Hall Ladies’ Bridge Club meets the first and third Monday each month at 1:00 PM at the Community Clubhouse for a friendly, informal game of Bridge. A binder containing monthly sign-up sheets is located in the Community Club House on the desk near the main entrance. Please sign up by Friday of the week before we will be playing. PINOCHLE CLUB Whether you are a lifetime player or just want to learn what this card game is all about, join other Members to play a friendly hand! This club meets the 1st & 3rd Wednesday of every month at 7:00 pm at the Community Clubhouse. THOSE OF THE PROS BOOK CLUB Those of the Prose Book Club meets the first Wednesday of each month at 1:00 pm at the Community Clubhouse to discuss the current month’s read. LOWCOUNTRY WOMEN’S CONNECTION BIBLE STUDY Join other women in the community for a Bible Study every Monday morning at 10:30 am at the Library in the Community Clubhouse. For additional information, please contact Debbie Wilson at 843-757-2065. THE HAMPTON HALL SHARING LIBRARY A Sharing Library is available to all Hampton Hall residents. Please contribute to the library by dropping off “newer” hardback fiction and non-fiction books at the Community Clubhouse. You are welcome to borrow a book for a reasonable period (2-4 wks.), then return it to the bottom shelf in the library. The library will function on the honor system.
