Skills and trade recognition<br />

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)<br />

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) identifies the<br />

skills and abilities <strong>students</strong> currently hold. This<br />

includes any combination of formal or informal<br />

learning, education and work experience.<br />

By having their previous work/life experience and<br />

study formally recognised, <strong>students</strong> may already<br />

have successfully completed a number of the units<br />

of competency that make up their chosen training<br />

program. This will enable <strong>students</strong> to fast-track<br />

their study and reduce training costs.<br />

Note: All <strong>SkillsTech</strong> <strong>Australia</strong>’s accredited training<br />

programs are eligible for RPL.<br />

If <strong>students</strong> believe they have relevant and recent<br />

skills and experience, please apply for RPL prior to<br />

enrolment.<br />

Please note: Students are not eligible for any<br />

refund of their tuition fees for an approved RPL.<br />

Trade Recognition <strong>Australia</strong><br />

Trade Recognition <strong>Australia</strong> is the assessing<br />

authority for a range of trade and associated<br />

professional occupations for the Department of<br />

Immigration and Citizenship.<br />

Students must complete a number of hours of<br />

work experience and achieve the nominated award<br />

before Trade Recognition <strong>Australia</strong> recognises<br />

them as a qualified tradesperson.<br />
