Skills and trade recognition
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) identifies the
skills and abilities students currently hold. This
includes any combination of formal or informal
learning, education and work experience.
By having their previous work/life experience and
study formally recognised, students may already
have successfully completed a number of the units
of competency that make up their chosen training
program. This will enable students to fast-track
their study and reduce training costs.
Note: All SkillsTech Australia’s accredited training
programs are eligible for RPL.
If students believe they have relevant and recent
skills and experience, please apply for RPL prior to
enrolment.
Please note: Students are not eligible for any
refund of their tuition fees for an approved RPL.

Trade Recognition Australia
Trade Recognition Australia is the assessing
authority for a range of trade and associated
professional occupations for the Department of
Immigration and Citizenship.
Students must complete a number of hours of
work experience and achieve the nominated award
before Trade Recognition Australia recognises
them as a qualified tradesperson.
