no refund of fees will be payable for the current<br />
semester, but all subsequent fees will be payable<br />
at local rates.<br />
If the Department of Immigration and Citizenship<br />
(DIAC) stops a student from studying, fees will not<br />
be refunded for the current semester, but all other<br />
tuition fees paid in advance will be refunded.<br />
If a student withdraws from study for any reason<br />
other than initial visa rejection:<br />
• more than 28 days before the program<br />
starts, the first semester’s tuition fees<br />
will be refunded, minus an administration<br />
charge of 10 per cent of instalment paid<br />
• less than 28 days before the program<br />
starts, the first semester’s tuition fees<br />
will be refunded, minus an administration<br />
charge of 20 per cent of instalment paid<br />
• after the program starts, the first semester’s<br />
tuition fees will not be refunded.<br />
If a student becomes seriously ill or is required to<br />
return home due to exceptional circumstances of<br />
a compassionate nature (such as death or severe<br />
illness of the immediate family) and can no longer<br />
continue their study, <strong>SkillsTech</strong> <strong>Australia</strong> may<br />
refund the balance of unused fees.<br />
This fee refund is wholly at the discretion of the<br />
Institute Director. Appropriate evidence, such as a<br />
medical certificate, will be required.<br />
Should a student be expelled from <strong>SkillsTech</strong><br />
<strong>Australia</strong> at anytime, fees already paid will not be<br />
refunded.<br />
Appeal<br />
Should an application for refund be refused,<br />
written notice detailing the reasons will be issued<br />
to the student. A written appeal may be lodged<br />
with the Institute Director within seven days after<br />
written notice is given.<br />
