Fees, policies and procedures<br />

Conditions of enrolment<br />

1. The student is expected to attend all<br />

classes, undertake all assessments and<br />

examinations (applicable to the study<br />

program), and abide by the rules and<br />

regulations of <strong>SkillsTech</strong> <strong>Australia</strong>.<br />

2. The contract between the applicant and<br />

<strong>SkillsTech</strong> <strong>Australia</strong> is governed by the laws<br />

of the Commonwealth of <strong>Australia</strong> and the<br />

State of Queensland.<br />

3. <strong>International</strong> <strong>students</strong> must meet the<br />

minimum English Language and Academic<br />

requirements for entry into the program.<br />

Access, equity and diversity<br />

<strong>SkillsTech</strong> <strong>Australia</strong> promotes an environment<br />

which is fair and equitable and free from<br />

discrimination and intolerance.<br />

<strong>SkillsTech</strong> <strong>Australia</strong> will not tolerate discrimination<br />

or harassment of any kind and will take the<br />

appropriate action as per the Student Rules.<br />

Awards<br />

To obtain an award, <strong>students</strong> must have<br />

successfully completed all requirements of the<br />

qualification within the specific timeframe and<br />

have paid all fees.<br />

Students with any outstanding fees or debt with<br />

<strong>SkillsTech</strong> <strong>Australia</strong> will receive a letter explaining<br />

that their award will not be issued until all<br />

amounts are paid.<br />

Academic appeals<br />

Students who are dissatisfied with academic<br />

decisions may apply for a Re-evaluation of<br />

Assessment within 14 days of receiving their<br />

results.<br />

Students dissatisfied with the outcome have<br />

a further Right of Appeal as stated in TAFE<br />

Queensland Student Rules.<br />

Deferral, suspension and<br />

cancellation of enrolment<br />

Deferrals, suspensions and cancellations of<br />

enrolment can only occur under very specific<br />

circumstances.<br />

New <strong>students</strong> must submit a written request to the<br />

<strong>International</strong> Office.<br />

Continuing <strong>students</strong> must submit a written<br />

request to the relevant Business Manager and<br />

the <strong>International</strong> Office must be advised of the<br />

response. All program deferments require a new<br />

agreement and payment of current tuition fees in<br />

place at the start of program.<br />

Disclosure<br />

Students are required to advise <strong>SkillsTech</strong><br />

<strong>Australia</strong> of any information which may impact on<br />

their ability to undertake the program, i.e. illness,<br />

injury, disability, learning or support needs.<br />

<strong>SkillsTech</strong> <strong>Australia</strong> is required under Section 19 of<br />

the ESOS Act 2007 to advise DIAC about changes<br />

to the student’s enrolment and any breach of<br />

<strong>SkillsTech</strong> <strong>Australia</strong>
