SOCIAL PROGRAMME Pre-congress “Get Together Party” Friday March 23rd , Cathedrale St-Pierre, 18h00 (www.saintpierre-geneve.ch) An organ concert will be given at the cathedral, that has been exceptionnaly privatized for the event. Belonging today to the Swiss Reformed Church, the cathedral was built in the 12th century, and is best known as the adopted home church of Jean Calvin, one of the leaders of the Protestant Reformation. A welcome drink will follow the concert. City Tour and Excursions Geneva New and Old Town Friday 23 March 2012, 14h00 – 18h00 Cost: CHF 58.- per person During this excursion, you will discover the international and historic Geneva. Your tour director will bring you in the old town of Geneva where you will see the majestic Russian Church, the Grand Theatre and the impressive Reformation Wall. You will also discover the new town of Geneva by visiting the United Nations which is the second most important centre of the United Nations after New York. The excursion includes bus transport, guide and entrance to the United Nations. Annecy (the Venice of the Alps) Saturday 24 March 2012 09h00 – 14h00 Cost: CHF 70.- per person Called “the Venice of the Alps,” Annecy is located on the shore of the Lake Annecy, facing one of the most outstanding mountain sceneries in Europe. The old part of the town, officially classified as a “town of history and art,” was the capital of the Geneva earls during the 13th and 14th centuries. Our guided tour will allow you to dive into the medieval old town of Annecy and to enjoy the splendid view of the Alps and the Lake. The excursion includes bus transport, guide and city tour.
