cleaners use active foam for
cleaning the teats. After the foam
has been applied on to the teat by
dipping, it must be left to take
effect for at least 30 seconds. In
this time the foam dissolves the
dirt from the teat and encases it.

the cleaning components the

combined with cosmetic active
ingredients and lactic acid, in
order to keep the skin of the teat
soft and smooth.
Stimulation influences
milking duration
The preparation of the udders and
teats is not done simply with
cleaning in mind. Stimulation
encourages injection of the milk
and therefore also swift milking.
In 2009 the Bio-competence
Centre of Healthy Dairy Products
in Burgundy in France compared
four different preparations for
milking:
n Recommended pre-treatment
and pre-milking
n (Dry) agroclean® udder
wool and pre-milking
n Pre-milking alone
n No preparation
In this study the total milking
duration and the milk yield in the
first two minutes and the number
of butyric acid spores (as an
indication of hygiene) were
collated and compared. The
results in the table above left
show clearly that dry cleaning
with agroclean® udder wool
m a k e s p o s s i b l e t h e b e s t
preparation for milking: fast,
efficient and hygienic.
