Pole Lease Agreements
Cable system operators often enter into contractual agreements with the owners of utility poles. The pole owners
are municipalities, telephone companies, and power companies. There are often specific safety practices that are
specified in the contract. These safety practices may be more restrictive than other codes and standards. The contractual
agreements should be investigated for safety requirements. The requirements should be interpreted, communicated
and accordingly observed.
State, Local, and Municipal Codes
State, local and municipal codes may also apply to the construction of the cable system.
These codes will vary by location. These codes will have to be identified and applied
as required on a location specific basis.
