$20 million to found the Center for Christian-Muslim Understanding at Georgetown University,<br />

which remains one of the key institutions globally working on Christian-Muslim relations.<br />

Nasser al Kharafi—one of the richest people in the world—is the president of Kharafi & Sons, one<br />

of the largest Middle Eastern companies with an estimated capital of $5 billion. He was awarded<br />

the Lifetime Achievement Award by H.M. King Abdullah II of Jordan in 2005 for his philanthropic<br />

efforts and contributions to relief agencies.<br />

social service organizations and is also a scholar of Islam, having studied at the Darul Uloom<br />

Deoband. Qasmi is also a politician who founded the Assam United Democratic Front political<br />

party. He is noted for his contributions to charitable hospitals, orphanages, and educational<br />
