Triple M - Brazilian Market Expanding<br />

<strong>Lockwood</strong> recently acquired an equity interest<br />
in Triple M in Brazil. We are now actively<br />
pursuing business not only with Petrobras,<br />
who has already approved funding for over<br />
$200B to be spent over the next ten years,<br />
but also in other industries such as Mining,<br />
Pulp & Paper and Ethanol. The partnership is<br />
being led by Antonio Marchina who, previous<br />
to this, was the Tyco general manager for the<br />
country of Brazil.<br />
Following is a recent press release picked up<br />
by Valve World:<br />
“Until recently, the handling of procurement for<br />
project and plant implementation was limited<br />
due to the lack of full line distribution companies<br />
in Brazil. End users and EPC companies were<br />
forced to query numerous vendors in order<br />
to satisfy the projects’ material requirements.<br />
But business in Brazil has changed dramatically,<br />
with more and larger projects being undertaken<br />
daily. Thus, the old methodology has become<br />
cumbersome and expensive. With current projects<br />
requiring large volumes of pipe, fittings,<br />
valves and actuation, the need for a central<br />
distributor became apparent, and in 2009<br />
Triple M / Brazil opened its doors to offer project<br />
managers an alternative to seeking out dozens<br />
of sources one at a time. Located in Votorantim,<br />
Triple M carries many well known brands of<br />
actuation, fittings, pipe and valves from a host<br />
of global suppliers and manufacturers like <strong>Lockwood</strong><br />
<strong>International</strong> and IPPG. Triple M also<br />
manufacturers the Mack Valve resilient seated<br />
butterfly valve in Votorantim, and all products<br />
shipped from Triple M are tested and certified<br />
including all traceability reports.”
