Using the CBDE at an event Technical preparation Preparing yourself Demonstration Environment User Guide: Page 8 of 49 The CBDE is an excellent tool with which to engage stakeholders of Choose and Book. Like all tools there are things that you as a user can do to ensure you get the best out the CBDE. When using the CBDE at an event or meeting there are technical tasks you need to manage beforehand to ensure that your demonstration runs smoothly and that your stakeholders have a positive experience of Choose and Book. The facilities to be used for accessing the demonstration environment should be provided by the organisation hosting the event. This includes but is not limited to; NHSnet/N3 network access, PC or laptop and projector. They should always comply with the technical specification outlined on page 5 of this guide. Before your demonstration you need to confirm that your host can access the CBDE by completing the test below: Enter the url https://nww.demo.ebs.ncrs.nhs.uk On the login page enter your user name and password Select the Bookings and Referrals Area Select James Adcock from the drop down box and click ‘Proceed’ Select ‘Yes’ to any security information pop ups that appear Select Swallowfields Practice/Referring Clinician from the drop down box and click ‘Ok’ Select ‘Yes’ to any security information pop ups that appear If you are unable to access the demonstration environment please contact the local IT support desk. Prior to any demonstration please familiarise yourself with the data contained within the CBDE. Make sure you know whom your audience is and tailor any scenarios to their needs. Prepare more than one scenario and practice before the day. IMPORTANT: Please be aware that any attachments used MUST be from within the environment itself and NOT contain actual live patient information. It is strongly recommended that you have a copy of the PowerPoint screenshot presentations in case you cannot access the CBDE. The screenshot presentations have speaker notes to assist you but remember to familiarise yourself with these too.
Setting up new users Access to the Choose and Book Demonstration Environment will be granted at 2 levels: Super User - can use the environment and accredit new users Super Users Demonstration Environment User Guide: Page 9 of 49 Standard User - can use the environment but cannot accredit new users. To access the Choose and Book Demonstration Environment you will need a user name and password. The administration of this is undertaken by http://www.chooseandbook.nhs.uk/contacts/choose-and-book-query-webform The following groups of people have been defined as CBDE Super Users: Connecting for Health Choose and Book Clinical Leads Connecting for Health Choose and Book Booking Implementation Managers (BIMs) Connecting for Health Choose and Book Executive Delivery leads Connecting for Health Choose and Book Cluster Staff (as nominated by the Cluster BIMs) Cerner Choose and Book Trainers (delivering formal Choose and Book Train-the-Trainer sessions) All other members of the Connecting for Health Choose and Book team. As a Super User, once you have been given access to the CBDE you will be able to undertake the following within the environment: Use the CBDE to give demonstration / training sessions Accredit new users in the use of the environment Request a user name and password for new users. NOTE: To accredit new user(s) you must arrange a face-to-face session with them to explain how to access and use the CBDE. After the face-to-face session you will then request access to the CBDE for the new user(s) by completing a standard form and emailing it using the feedback form at http://www.chooseandbook.nhs.uk/contacts/choose-and-book-query-web-form with the subject Demo Environment Logon.
