• Perform a pre discharge assessment (TcB screen?) for risk<br />
of severe hyperbilirubinemia<br />
• Provide information, education to parents on newborn<br />
jaundice<br />
• Provide follow up (24-48 hours) based on time of discharge<br />
and <strong>the</strong> risk assessment<br />
• Treat with photo<strong>the</strong>rapy or exchange transfusion if<br />
indicated<br />
