Basics of Bragg-Brentano geometry The Bragg-Brentano geometry is frequently used like a tool for the most of the diffractometers. This geometry was applied in analytical instrument - diffractometer (Figure 10), which was an ingenious invention. It is a commonly used instrument where the samples reveal polycrystalline nature. The Bragg-Brentano diffractometer combines a high efficiency with high resolution. Figures 11 and 12 present the Bragg-Brentano geometry for X-ray beam focusing and its principle.
