GDK2 p.317. Before ‘rebodied’ add ‘shipped to Australia
by Jack Compton Ltd., London, 4 Aug. 1934, to George
F. Harris, Fairfield, Vic. Rebodied as Supreme saloon,
£228.18.0 on 21 Dec 1934. 200,000 miles from 1934-53;
sold by Harris to Wheeler 7 Dec 1953 £125 as blue/black
sedan; reg’d VIC-193-155 15 Dec 1953 (see also GF3);’ before
‘George N. Edwards’ add ‘Mrs. H. H. Wheeler, 1953-
66, 80,000 miles.’ It is thought that the body, radiator, and
registration number were moved by Wheeler to GF3 after
1957. In turn, the Kellow-Falkiner derived utility body from
GF3 was moved to GDK2. This body could actually have
been made by Waring.
GPK47 p.317. Engine is ‘G1393’, not ‘G1398’. Owner is
‘Edmund’ not ‘Edward’ Waters, 1983 not ‘89.
GPK60 p.318. At first body insert ‘V-screen’. Before ‘Hurley’
add ‘Raymond R. Black, St. Kilda, Vic., 1964/65’.
GZK12 p.318. The Martin & King body was the same 4-door
4-light style as on GPK52 and others.
Late Arrivals in Australia
1928 20 h.p. GYL82 Propert’s saloon
in the 1950s, the body being
based on the Chevrolet ‘Master’
design. Note the vertical radiator
shutters con-version, 19” wheels,
and the later wide bonnet, all fitted
by Southern Motors in England
to both GYL82 and GBM55 in 1937
before despatch as chassis in 1939.
1928 20 h.p. GBM55 after being rebodied
by Propert’s in 1937, quite
a sporting style. (Sydney Morning
