NOTES
Phil Mickelson, the 2007 champion, is No. 1 on
the all-time PLAYERS Championship money list
with $2,497,526.
In the final round in 2007, Phil Mickelson hit all
but four fairways, 16 of 18 Greens in Regulation and
fired a 3-under-par 69. The 36-year-old lefthander
overtook third-round leader Sean O’Hair early on
the back nine and was able to enjoy the walk home
when O’Hair found water on the 17th hole.

The PGA TOUR statistic for Greens in Regulation
has long been an accurate measurement for players
who play well at THE PLAYERS Championship.
Nine of the past 24 winners have finished either
first or T1 for the week in Greens in Regulation,
including three of the last four (2006, Stephen
Ames – T1; 2005, Fred Funk – 1st; 2004, Adam
Scott – 1st). Phil Mickelson finished T24 in GIR
in 2007 by hitting 64.79 percent of his greens.
Mickelson also finished T65 in Driving Accuracy
(53.6 percent) and 23rd in Putting Average (1.717).
Phil Mickelson’s 2007 PLAYERS win in his 14th
start was one short of the record for most starts
before the first PLAYERS win, shared with Tom
Kite (1989) and Fred Funk (2005).

Eligible players are:
• Winners of PGA TOUR cosponsored or approved tournaments, whose victories are considered official, since the previous year’s PLAYERS
Championship.
•. The top 125 finishers on the 2007 Official PGA TOUR Money List.
• Winners of THE PLAYERS Championship, Masters Tournament, U.S. Open, British Open and PGA Championship from 2003-2007.
• Winners of THE TOUR Championship in the last three years (2005-2007).
• Winners of the World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship and World Golf Championships-CA Championship in the last
three years (2006-2008).
• Winner of the World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational in the last three years (2005-2007).
• Any player(s), not otherwise eligible, among the top 50 leaders from the Official World Golf Ranking through the Wachovia Championship.
Any player(s), not otherwise eligible, among the top 10 leaders from the 2008 FedExCup Points List through the Wachovia Championship.
• The winner of the 2007 Constellation Energy Senior Players Championship. (Such exemption will be an addition to the field.) – Loren Roberts.
• The leading money winner from the 2007 Official Nationwide Tour Money List – Richard Johnson.
• If necessary to complete a field of 144 players, PGA TOUR members from the 2008 FedExCup Points List below 10th position through the
Wachovia Championship, in order of their positions on such list.
