• Physicochemical properties and fertility 1) Pebble and gravel, sand, silt, clay pebble and gravel mammocks (岩石碎块) with the diameter over 1mm; commonly seen in the soil of some mountain areas and river beaches. Soil with lots of pebbles and gravels usually has big pores and gaps, where the loss of water and nutrients is quite easy. 2)sand mainly are primary minerals such as quarts, feldspar, mica and hornblende, etc., particularly quarts; diameter about 1-0.05mm; commonly seen in the soil of fluvial plains. Soil with lots of sands also has big pores and gaps, thus has high air ventilation and water permeability, low ascending height of capillary water (

Soil with lots of clay is abundant in nutrients and has strong constipating property; it also has fine moisture retention and fertility preserving capability but bad air ventilation and water permeability.
