CLIFF’S NOTES
What a wonderful Memorial Day
Holiday! The Oasis was busy on May 25
partially due to the great entertainment provided
by Jeff Brown, but mostly because of
the visit from our Imperial Sir and his Lady.
The evening was capped off in fine fashion
in the Arabian Room thanks to the wonderful
sounds of the Dwight Edwards Blues
Band.
Don’t forget your Oasis Lounge as we
dash into summer. We have bands scheduled
for June 1 and August 24. There is no
better place to stop after a hot day of mowing
grass (or 18 holes of golf) to rest and
refresh yourself than your Oasis Lounge.
Did you ever wonder?:
1. Why is it that people say that
they “slept like a baby” when
most babies wake up every
couple of hours?
2. Why does a round pizza come
in a square box?
3. What disease did “cured ham”
actually have?
Noble Frank Bohannon and his Lady
Julie came back to the Oasis to get
reacquainted after an extended
absence. Welcome back!
VOLUNTEERS: Don’t forget to lend
a helping hand this summer by volunteering
to help the VCM at the State Fair or Flying
Fezzes at the Mount Comfort Air Show.
Both of these fund-raising activities are good
publicity for Shrine Masonry and Murat. Talk
with a member of one of these two Units
about how you can help.

Band Nights are not the only reason
to have a party at the Oasis. On
4/12, Lady Vicki Wilson was
surprised by family and friends with
a birthday party in her honor.

it would be a good idea to put
wheels on luggage?
2. Does the Alphabet Song and
Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star have
the same tune?
3. Why did you just try singing the
two songs mentioned above?

as one.

Tarum

HEAR YE, HEAR YE, By order of
Illustrious Sir Jerry Markovich,
Potentate, Murat Shrine, and President
Larry Pippin, Tarum Shrine, Saturday,
June 16, 2007, has been designated
Shrine Day at Tarum Shrine Club. All
Shriners and their families are invited to
come to Tarum Shrine and enjoy a day
of food, fun, and fellowship in the Club
and many outdoor activities in and
around the pool. Please encourage all
members of our Masonic Family to
attend. You never know, there could be
new Shriners among them just waiting
to join.
President Pippin wanted to once
again thank all who answered his call
for the Spring Clean-Up. There were
about 20 people who came to help.
Once again, Noble John Anderson
came to the rescue with some of his
workers to fix the shelter house roof,
patch some more of the Club roof, and
bring a dump truck to haul away the
trash. John has taken being a Shriner to
heart. He and his Lady Rose have
helped with many of the outside parties
and wedding receptions. They are very
busy people with their own business
and kids; however, they find the time to
still come and help at the Club. They
attend Friday night dinner at least once
or twice per month and always try to
help where they are needed. They
donate time and materials whenever
possible so that Tarum may continue to
be the club we all want it to be. So from
President Larry, Tarum, and myself,
thank you John and Rosie.
Remember that our Richmond
Masonic Family has breakfast the first
Saturday of the month. The food is
good and the friends and the fellowship
are hard to beat. So make plans to
attend this once monthly event. On
Saturday the 4th of August Webb Lodge
will be hosting a Masonic Family picnic
and fun day at Tarum Shrine Club.
Brother Ken Toler and Brother Curt
McDivitt are chairing this event and
they need your help. So give them a
call and plan on attending this fun day.
