Parade Committee
The year is half over and most of the available parades are
still ahead of us! So far we have had a great year and are looking
forward to continued success. There are just a few glitches that
need to be worked out for that to occur. Unit Parade Chairmen
must remember to secure an invitation from the parade promoters
and then consent from the Potentate so everyone is aware of what
is going on and all the paperwork is in order for insurance coverage
to be in effect. In some cases, protocol is in place where our
Potentate must ask permission from the Potentate of the Oasis that
is sovereign where the parade is taking place, such as Kerbela
Shriners in Knoxville, TN, for the “Smoky Mountain Fun Fest” at
Pigeon Forge, or a parade in South Bend, IN (ORAK), or Vincennes,
IN (HADI), all in other jurisdictions. There is still time to get those
invitations and permission out of the way for upcoming events, and
there are some GREAT ones to have! Some of the more popular

We met at the American Military Heritage Foundation Museum
at Post-Air Airport for a cookout for our members in the “Buzzard’s
Roost.”
The “airplane” is getting some minor maintenance work
accomplished and there was a “progress report.” Mike Blaydoe
showed everyone the outstanding job he had done in “slicking up”
the prop spinner that had been slightly damaged. Most of the members,
as usual, brought their ladies with them to fully enjoy the festivities.
You do not need to be a pilot to join the Flying Fezzes.
Meetings are the second Monday of the month in the Mecca Room.

Indianapolis Scottish Rite of Freemasonry
Job Description:
The Indianapolis Scottish Rite, a men’s fraternity of 32nd degree
Freemasons, seeks Field Director of Membership Recruitment and
Retention to directly solicit Master Masons to become members
of the Scottish Rite and motivate existing members to retain their
membership. This will be accomplished through planning and
implementing events designed to inform potential members of the
benefits of membership and executing follow-up mechanisms on
prospects. In addition, the Field Director will recruit and train
volunteer membership team members in local lodges and on county
wide basis to supplement direct solicitation efforts.
This is a full time position with significant evening and weekend
travel.The candidate must be a Master Mason and a member of the
Scottish Rite.The candidate must be enthusiastic about the Fraternity,
be familiar with the structure and leadership of the Scottish Rite and
affiliated fraternal organizations, have advanced communication skills
and should have some experience at visiting Lodges and other Masonic
organizations.
The compensation consists of modest base salary plus significant
incentives depending on success level of recruitment efforts. The
Indianapolis Scottish Rite offers health, dental, life, and long term
disability insurance; paid time off; and an excellent defined benefit
retirement program.
