What a great time we had at our
May meeting and fellowship dinner at
the Athenaeum across from Murat.
There were around 50 plus members
and their ladies in attendance. All
enjoyed the unique German food and
nobody went away hungry. Thanks to
our president, Colonel Kent Smith, Sr.,
and Colonel Carl Sputh for making this
an enjoyable evening.
HOSPITAL VISITATIONS – Several
of the Colonels and their ladies visited
the Lexington Hospital in May for
Hospital Day. Our Murat trailer was also
present to advertise our hospitals to the
public. Chicago visitation will be on
June 3, and Cincinnati Hospital will be
on June 10. This is a great opportunity
to expose your lady and friends to our
hospitals. There will be tours at each of
our hospitals with plenty of food and
fun.

PAPER CRUSADE – June 22 and 23
are the dates for this year’s Paper
Crusade.
This is always a great opportunity
for the Club to help advertise our hospitals
to the general public. We have a
new paper this year which is full of stories
and information on how a family
can receive free hospital care together
with contact information, conditions
treated, and a method for donations.
The Colonels Club will be at the Wal-
Mart store at 7325 N. Keystone Avenue.
If you would like to help spread the
word, please contact the Club Paper
Crusade chairman, Paul Schneck. It’s
not much work and is a very rewarding
experience.
WELCOME – Let’s all welcome our
newest member, Terry Boyer. Terry
belongs to the Clown Unit and is known
as “Stinky.” He also is second vice of the
Michael Joe Smith
Happy Father’s Day Nobles.
My, how the time is speeding by. It’s hard to believe this year is half over! It
seems like it just began. I would like to say thanks to all who came out May 25 for
Band Night and reception of our Imperial Sir.
Nobles, if you are under the age of 46, come join the fun. We meet the second
Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m.
On August 11, we are having a Murder Mystery Dinner in the Corinthian
Room. Tickets are $35 per person. I would like to thank Vice President Matt Boyer
for all of his help in organizing our Lexington Hospital trip on May 19 and 20. We
had a great time with lots of fun and fellowship.

JUNE MEETING – At our June
meeting, we will have our pictures taken
in our white suits (if you have one) to be
put in the 2008 Murat calendar. This is
an excellent opportunity to show off the
Kentucky Colonel Club so mark your
calendar to attend the meeting on June
6.
WHITE SUITS – Our suits are
available for a limited time at S & K
Menswear Greenwood, Park Plaza on
Lafayette Road, Castleton, Carmel and at
Value City. Please check to see if the
suits are available before you make a
trip to the store. White suits are manufactured
for a brief time only and when
they are gone, you will have to wait
another year before they are available

Don’t forget to join us the first
Wednesday of the month in the Mecca
Room. We always eat in the Mecca
Room around 5:30 p.m. and are served
where you sit. Board meeting is at 6:30
and the meeting will start at 7 p.m. See
