Burial 77 (Field).<br />

2214. Same. o. 2.50 x 1.50 cm. b. 2.40 x 1.20 cm. a. Too poor to give an impression, b. Lion<br />

<strong>at</strong>tacking an antelope which is being protected by a man. Behind <strong>the</strong> man is ano<strong>the</strong>r<br />

lion about to <strong>at</strong>tack him. Burial 82 (Baghdad).<br />

2219. Same. 1.15 x .80 cm. Two antelopes (?) rampant, beside wh<strong>at</strong> appears to be <strong>the</strong> trunk<br />

of a tree. O<strong>the</strong>r trees or shrubs in <strong>the</strong> background. Burial 83 (Baghdad).<br />

2227. Same. 2.90 x 1.60 cm. As far as can be seen, <strong>the</strong> design is of an animal st<strong>and</strong>ing on its<br />

hind legs, facing to <strong>the</strong> left. Burial 85.<br />

2237. Same. 2x1 cm. Apparently, two se<strong>at</strong>ed figures facing one ano<strong>the</strong>r with an indefinite<br />

object between <strong>the</strong>m on <strong>the</strong> ground. Burial 86.<br />

2270. Same. a. .20x9.50 mm. 6.20 x.80mm. a. A row of animals in file, facing to <strong>the</strong> right<br />

with trees in <strong>the</strong> background, b. Owing to corrosion its design could not be made out.<br />

Burial 90 (a; Field, b; Baghdad).<br />

2286. Lapis lazuli. 2 x 1.10 cm. Lion <strong>at</strong>tacking an animal which is being protected by a<br />

man. Burial 92 (Field).<br />

2299. Shell. 3 x 1.80 cm. Usual subject of two lions <strong>and</strong> antelopes. Scorpion also depicted<br />

(Baghdad).<br />

2298. Same. 3.40 x 1.70 cm. As No. 2299.<br />

2312B. Same. 14. 50 x.90 mm. Eagle with displayed wings, holding an antelope on ei<strong>the</strong>r side<br />

of it. Burial 93 (Field).<br />

2341. Glaze. 2.40 x 1.20 cm. A man st<strong>and</strong>ing between two animals, holding <strong>the</strong> tail of<br />

each. One animal looks like a horse or ass, <strong>and</strong> has an upright plume-like tail. In<br />

a very poor condition (Baghdad).<br />

2400B. Shell. 4.15 x 2.40 cm. Two registers separ<strong>at</strong>ed by a fine line. Upper register: usual<br />

scene of lions, antelopes, <strong>and</strong> men. Lower register: apparently an ostrich <strong>and</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r<br />

animals, with two men dressed in short kilts, facing one ano<strong>the</strong>r. Much too worn<br />

to be made out with certainty. Burial 107 (Baghdad).<br />

2432. a. 3.30 X 1.60 cm. b. 2.90 x 1.70 cm. c. 3.80 x 2.10 cm. a <strong>and</strong> c. Shell, b. Bituminous<br />

limestone, a <strong>and</strong> b. Lion <strong>and</strong> bull with bodies crossed. The lion appears to be <strong>at</strong>tacking<br />

an animal which is difficult to identify, which is being protected by a man<br />

represented full face with a long beard, c. Lion <strong>at</strong>tacking an antelope. All in a very<br />

bad condition. Burial 104 (Baghdad <strong>and</strong> Field).<br />

2459. Limestone. 4 x 2.10 cm. A lion <strong>at</strong>tacking an antelope is all th<strong>at</strong> can be made out.<br />

Burial 110.<br />

2483. Shell. 1.50 x .80 cm. Antelope. Burial 113 (Field).<br />

2493. Limestone. 4.50 x 1.10 cm. Antelopes in file. Below <strong>the</strong>m is a decor<strong>at</strong>ive p<strong>at</strong>tern of<br />

stars with four points (Baghdad).<br />

2501. Shell. 3.10 x 1.50 cm. Figure of a man, full face, holding an animal by <strong>the</strong> tail with<br />

ei<strong>the</strong>r h<strong>and</strong>. Burial 116 (Oxford).<br />

2509. a. Lapis lazuli, b. Limestone, c <strong>and</strong> d. Shell, a. Antelopes in file. b. Lions <strong>and</strong><br />

antelopes with bodies crossed. Man on ei<strong>the</strong>r side, wearing fringed skirt, holding<br />

<strong>the</strong> tail of <strong>the</strong> lion <strong>and</strong> antelope, respectively. Behind one of <strong>the</strong> men is an antelope<br />

rampant, c. Man st<strong>and</strong>ing between two animals rampant, each of which is being<br />

<strong>at</strong>tacked by a lion. Ano<strong>the</strong>r man is apparently holding <strong>the</strong> tail of <strong>the</strong> lion. In a<br />

very bad condition, d. Man st<strong>and</strong>ing between a lion <strong>and</strong> a stag. Beside this group<br />

<strong>the</strong> seal is divided into two registers. Upper register : blank. Lower register : <strong>the</strong> figure<br />

of a man kneeling on one knee. Burial 117 (b<strong>and</strong> d; Baghdad, a; Field, c; Oxford).<br />

2515. Limestone. 3.40 x 2 cm. Apparently a lion <strong>at</strong>tacking an antelope with a man<br />

st<strong>and</strong>ing behind. In a poor condition (Field).
