What we are doing<br />
On the East Lancs Road (A580)<br />
• Building 2.5 miles of new bus lane alongside existing<br />
highway<br />
• Converting 2.25 miles of existing highway to bus lane<br />
(there will be a minimum of two lanes available <strong>for</strong><br />
general traffic)<br />
• Improving junctions along A580 to improve bus<br />
reliability, crossing facilities <strong>for</strong> pedestrians, and<br />
minimise congestion<br />
• Buses to use existing bus lanes introduced as part of<br />
recent Chapel Street / A6 improvements<br />
