More than 8 miles of new bus lanes will be introduced
either on or at the side of existing roads.
There will be some sections of road – such as Oxford Road
near the universities and hospital site and certain places
within Manchester city centre – that will be closed to
general traffic with access allowed only to buses, hackney
carriages (Black Cabs), emergency vehicles and bicycles.
