Figure 1 illustrates the approximate location of the subject property on USGS
topographic maps #33109a3, Clifton, Arizona (1989) and #33109a4, Copperplate Gulch,
Arizona (1989). The vicinity map shows the subject property and adjacent properties to
be undeveloped.
6.4.3 Aerial Photographs
Aerial photographs illustrating the subject property and surrounding areas for the years
1954, 1959, 1975, 1983, 1990, 1998, 2005 and 2010 were provided by the Earth Data
Analysis Center.
The 1954 aerial photograph (Figure 2) shows the subject property and adjacent properties to
be undeveloped. An area of possible mining related earthwork appears to be located
northeast of the subject property.
The 1959 aerial photograph (Figure 3) shows the subject property, adjacent properties and
the surrounding area to be similar in use and appearance to the 1954 aerial photograph.
The 1975 aerial photograph (Figure 4) shows the subject property adjacent properties and
the surrounding area to be similar in use and appearance as the 1959 aerial photograph. An
unimproved road crossing the southern portion of the subject property in the same location
as the unimproved road currently on the property is visible in this photograph. Additional
unimproved roads entering the subject property from the west are also visible in this
photograph. Due to the scale of the photograph, the small structure, pipeline and overhead
utilities present on the subject property are not readily visible in this aerial photograph.
The 1983 aerial photograph (Figure 5) shows the subject property, adjacent properties,
surrounding area and roads to be similar in appearance to the 1975 aerial photograph.
The 1990 aerial photograph (Figure 6) shows the subject property, adjacent properties,
surrounding area and roads to be similar in appearance to the 1983 aerial photograph.
The 1998 aerial photograph (Figure 7) shows the subject property, adjacent properties,
surrounding area and roads to be similar in appearance to the 1990 photograph.
The 2005 aerial photograph (Figure 8) shows the subject property, adjacent properties and
the surrounding area to be similar in appearance to the 1998 photograph. Additional
unimproved roads located north and northeast of the previously existing road are visible in
this photograph.
