Christmas will be upon us next and with this in mind we’ve provided an opening times poster in the centre pages for use in your shop. I would like to thank all the fish friers who have taken the time to complete the sustainability questionnaire in our last issue. The response has been brilliant and we’re getting some really positive feedback. If you haven’t already had the chance to let us know your views, the survey is available to complete on line at www.federationoffishfriers.co.uk and you could be in with a chance to win two boxes of FAS Icelandic cod or haddock, but you need to do it before 31st December. Issue 8 December 2011 We also have a winner of our free prize draw to ‘Win You Weight In Fish’. The winning entry was drawn out of the box by Tracy Poskitt during our Associate member’s meeting on the 7th November and Peter Diamond of Bondgate Fisheries, Otley is the lucky person to win - an undisclosed amount - of FAS cod or haddock kindly provided by T-Quality. You can read more about this on page 3. On the subject of Associate members we do have three new members to welcome who have joined us since our last issue. Meadow Vale Foods are a leading supplier of processed poultry products to the grocery and foodservice sectors and they will be revealing how to improve your profit margins by expanding your product range. We’re also very pleased to tell you that we have a real treat in store for you all at our 76th Annual General Meeting and President’s Banquet and Ball which will take place on Sunday 29th April 2012. NFFF President Gregg Howard has located a brilliant hotel in the centre of beautiful Stratford-upon-Avon and we’re busy arranging a Shakespearian themed night to remember, celebrating the fish and chip trade. We know that running a fish and chip shop business is hard work and this is a brilliant opportunity for you to relax, soak up the atmosphere amidst the Elizabethan charm and enjoy yourself with other people in the same trade. We’ve negotiated some great rates for a weekend break, so bring your partner and make a weekend of it and get to see some of the sights of Stratford at the same time. Work hard, play hard, that’s what we say!
