Yes ! A bubbled wrapped motor bike and yes! Wondered if it was a precious Harley
underneath. Being us we couldn't help ourselves and just had to ask. It wasn't a Harley. We
were reassured it was a 'Vincent' that had been on mission to a rally in NSW
That night we rested at the Iron Knob Hotel. After realising it was much later than we
thought due to that strange invisible time line. Alan the publican was surprised and happy
to see us. I hadn’t told him we were coming. Yeah some hard core riding and on the lookout
for Roos on the last stretch Caught up to a few bikers who raised eyebrows when we
mentioned where we had left from that day and where we hoped to end up. (wooses). Every
other fuel up, we kept coming across a fella that Christine had chatted up in Cocklebiddy
and wondered if he and his prize alpacas were stalking us all the way to Poochera.
Tues 23 rd Oct – We stopped in Narracoorte to feast on
Australia’s largest donut that overlaps a dinner plate – we went
halves for brunch.
Pulled in at Keith for the night and who did we see??? 5
members of the Great Southern branch. A friendly lot who Let us use their kitchen to
make a cuppa and cook our dinner while they were at the pub.
Weds 24 th Oct - Anyhow a big time out
there with lots of people marvelling at two girls on
WA plates heading to the Moto GP. We managed to
catch up with a few more bikes on the Great Ocean
Road with WA plates. It was a cruisey enjoyable
ride through the elbow bends and speccy scenery. A
much nicer ride than last time. This time being
midweek and the road has been repaired.
Finally relaxing at a friends place in Melbourne,
before heading off to the island tomorrow.
Thurs 25 th – Sun 28th Oct - Had a lovely day
browsing the accessory sections of the
motorcycle shops in Elizabeth street. Christine
fell in lurve with a greeny coloured Guzzi Griso
in the Aprilla shop. Colour is a big factor for us
girls. We ended up at Peter Stevens far too
long, Christine stocked up on Jackets. Then
bought chaps at Mars Leathers. One must keep
her away from shops when there is a time limit
to hit the road. They all loved her credit card.
We finally got back to Lou's house, packed the
bikes. It started to rain as we pulled the bikes
out of the shed. Typical Phillip Island weekend. Then being so late the 145ks to the Island
