Director, Lissa Merrill,

Therapist, Tracie Alexander
has recently joined the
Physical Rehabilitation
Department. Tracie will
work full time in the
Outpatient Department.
Tracie is a graduate of
Franklin Pierce University
in Concord, New
Hampshire. She has a strong
interest in orthopaedics
and aspires to be a women's
health specialist. Tracie
comes with 3 years of
experience. She previously
worked for a year and half
at Wentworth Douglas
Hopsital in Dover, New
Hampshire, a designated
trauma center with a variety
of extensive rehab services.
Tracie was anxious to return
to her family in Maine and
most recently worked as a
travel therapist in a skilled
nursing facility in Ellsworth
for the last year.

South Paris Teen Named Distinguished
Young Woman of Maine
Statewide scholarship
program awarded more
than $1,500 in cash scholarships
to participants Mobile,
Ala. (March 5, 2013)
- On February 23, Maggie
Whittemore of South Paris,
Maine was named the Distinguished
Young Woman
of Maine and awarded
$1,200 in cash scholarships
during a statewide
scholarship program for
high school girls held at
Lewiston Middle School
in Lewiston, Maine. Whittemore
was one of two
high school senior girls
from Maine who competed
to represent the state as
the Distinguished Young
Woman of Maine for 2013.
Participants were evaluated
in the categories of
Scholastics (20%), Interview
(25%), Fitness (15%),
Self-Expression (15%) and
Talent (25%). Throughout
the next year, Whittemore
will represent the state at
various public events and
serve as a role model to
young people by spreading
the program’s national outreach
message of “Be Your
Best Self.” The outreach
program is designed to encourage
self-esteem and excellence
in all young people
through its five principles:
Be Healthy, Be Involved,
Be Studious, Be Ambitious,
and Be Responsible. Whittemore
is the daughter of
Duffy and Rhonda Whittemore
and is a senior at
Oxford Hills Comprehensive

National Finals will take
place on June 27, 28, and
29, 2013, in Mobile, Ala.
Whittemore will travel to
Mobile, Ala. along with 49
other state representatives
to participate in personal
development activities

Young Woman of America
for 2013 and for additional
cash scholarships.

Maxwell, who is attending
the University of Michigan,
won the 2012 overall
