88% of respondents who have a green kerbside organics bin put this
bin out fortnightly, 5% do so monthly and 7% less than monthly.
Fortnightly use was highest for bio basket users and lowest for non
users. Only two thirds (68%) of non users put their organics bin out
fortnightly and one quarter (25%) put it out less often than monthly. For
users of the system, 92% indicated that their bins were put out
fortnightly and only 4% less often than monthly.
A smaller proportion of tenants, respondents aged under 40, those in
housing other than traditional houses, took up the opportunity for
fortnightly collection of the green kerbside organics bin.
There was also a difference between the areas with St Peters (95%)
having a higher presentation rate than Kensington (80%).
