Configuring a <strong>NetBackup</strong> Policy<br />

Note It is recommended that you develop a backup policy schedule that includes both<br />

full and differential-incremental backups. Including both backup types will reduce<br />

backup time, since differential-incremental backups back up only the transaction<br />

logs. Also, this will help to avoid low disk capacity caused by the creation of too<br />

many transaction logs.<br />

▼ To add a schedule<br />

1. In the left pane, right-click on the name of the policy and select New Schedule.<br />

A dialog is displayed. The title bar shows the name of the policy to which you are<br />

adding the schedules.<br />

2. Specify a unique name <strong>for</strong> the schedule.<br />

3. Select the Type of backup.<br />

For in<strong>for</strong>mation on the types of backups available <strong>for</strong> this policy, see “Types of<br />

Backups” on page 31.<br />

4. Specify the other properties <strong>for</strong> the schedule as explained in “Schedule Properties.”<br />

5. Click OK.<br />
