Longstanding alliance between two family firms
The company was founded by Stefan Weiss in 1971, and still belongs to his family. Weiss Schrott specialises in iron and
non-ferrous metal scrap trading, demolition, container services and scrap car recycling.
Loacker’s investment in Weiss has resulted in optimum capacity utilisation for both sides, and safe jobs for the workforces
in Salzburg and Vorarlberg provinces. The alliance between the two family firms goes back a long way, and their ownership
ties benefit the customers of both enterprises. Together the companies are developing a strong disposal service portfolio.
The Hallein site bolsters Loacker’s market position thanks to its excellent transport links with destinations across the
German-speaking world, and is of particular benefit to customers requiring services in more than one region.
