LA VERNE - The Bonita High<br />

School Instrumental Music Program<br />

will be holding their annual<br />

Spring Concert and<br />

Barbeque on Monday, <strong>June</strong> 1,<br />

2009 at 6:00pm. The event will<br />

be held on the front lawn of<br />

Bonita High School, 3102 "D"<br />

Street, La Verne, California,<br />

91750 and is free to the public.<br />

The entertainment will be a<br />

year in review with highlight<br />

performances by all the Bonita<br />

High School Instrumental Music<br />

programs and Color Guard.<br />

The Symphonic and Jazz Bands<br />

participated in the 2009 <strong>San</strong> Diego<br />

National Heritage Music<br />

Festival and each placed SIL-<br />

VER. The Drum Line will perform<br />

their award winning routine<br />

from the rock band "Dream<br />

Line Association awarded an<br />

upgrade in status to the Drum<br />

Line from Scholastic B division<br />

SILVER in this new division.<br />

Additionally, the Color Guard<br />

will be performing their wellreceived<br />

"Beetlejuice" routine. It<br />

has been a year of hard work<br />

and commitment by all the students<br />

and their dedicated band<br />

director, Mr. Jeff Bird. Congratulations<br />

to him and these<br />

outstanding young men and<br />

women for a tremendous season!<br />

Life" is a fun-filled overnight<br />

event designed to bring together<br />

those who have been touched<br />

by cancer in our community. At<br />

the event, we celebrate survivors<br />

and raise money to help the<br />

American Cancer Society in its<br />

mission to save lives, help those<br />

who have been touched by cancer<br />

and empower individuals to<br />

fight back. Teams of people will<br />

gather at Horsethief Canyon<br />

Park and take turns walking<br />

laps. Each team tries to keep at<br />

least one team member on the<br />

track for a 24 hour period.<br />

"Relay for Life" gives you the<br />

power to help in the fight against<br />

cancer. By joining together as<br />

volunteers and donors, our efforts<br />

help the American Cancer<br />
