5,463, out of which the<br />

compensati<strong>on</strong> to Bakasir of<br />

Rupees 345 annually has<br />

ceased to be paid,<br />

c<strong>on</strong>sequent <strong>on</strong> the transfer<br />

of that district to Joudpoor;<br />

<strong>and</strong> the compensati<strong>on</strong> to<br />

Sookpoor, in Parkur, of<br />

Rupees 27 annually, has<br />

been lapsed to Government.<br />

Sunnud granted by His Excellency Major General Sir Charles apier, G. C. B.,<br />

Governor of Sind, to Soda Ladajee wulud Po<strong>on</strong>jajee, Soda Po<strong>on</strong>jajee wulud Mohorjee,<br />

<strong>and</strong> Soda aranjee wulud Mohorjee.<br />

A petiti<strong>on</strong> from Soda Ladajee, dated the 1st June of this year, was received through<br />

Col<strong>on</strong>el Roberts, Political Agent in Kutch, wherein you make over to Government the<br />

salt lake of Mokye, <strong>and</strong> request in the stead thereof three things:—1st, the whole l<strong>and</strong><br />

revenue of the town of Veerawow; 2ndly, <strong>on</strong>e-fourth of the Government share of the l<strong>and</strong><br />

revenue of all the villages in the Veerawow Zillah; <strong>and</strong> 3rdly, that the inhabitants of the<br />

Veerawow Zillah should be allowed to take salt for their use from Mokye without<br />

payment. To which three dem<strong>and</strong>s of yours the British Government have graciously<br />

agreed, <strong>and</strong> I therefore give you this Sunnud <strong>on</strong> the part of the British Government, to<br />

have effect from the 1st of May 1847.<br />

Another petiti<strong>on</strong> written by you, under date the 1st July 1847, <strong>and</strong> forwarded through the<br />

same authority, regarding the divisi<strong>on</strong> of the l<strong>and</strong> revenue of the town of Veerawow, <strong>on</strong>e-<br />
