If you are a visitor this morning, we welcome you to <strong>Saint</strong> <strong>Thomas</strong> <strong>Church</strong> and hope<br />

that you come back soon. We encourage you to complete a Welcome Card which you can<br />

find in the rack at the end of the pews or in the narthex at the front of the church.<br />

You are invited to Coffee Hour, which takes place in the Parish House living room and<br />

dining room following the 11 a.m. service. Please don’t hesitate to introduce yourself to<br />

members of the Welcome Committee, who will be distributing name tags, or to members of<br />

the clergy. Also, if you’d like to hear from us, please sign the Parish Guest Book if you have<br />

not already given us your contact information.<br />

Nursery: Parents of infants and toddlers, whether member or guest, may make use of our<br />

nursery during the 9 and 11 a.m. services and through the 10 a.m. Christian education hour.<br />

Staff, ushers or clergy will be glad to direct you. Once at the nursery, parents will be asked to<br />

sign in their children and will receive a silent pager for use during the services.<br />

There is a guided tour of the <strong>Church</strong> following the voluntary at the end of this service.<br />

All who wish to join the tour may meet the tour guide by the gallery stairs in the Narthex.<br />

The Bookstore, located on the first floor of the Parish House, is open following the 11<br />

The <strong>Saint</strong> <strong>Thomas</strong> Choir of Men and Boys has released a new CD, Vierne at <strong>Saint</strong><br />

<strong>Thomas</strong>. The disc contains Vierne’s Messe Solennelle, Op. 16, sung by the Choir with the<br />

<strong>Saint</strong> <strong>Thomas</strong> Brass and Jeremy Bruns at the organ and a performance of The First Organ<br />

Symphony played by John Scott on the Arents Memorial Organ. The CD can be purchased<br />

on our website, as well as in the Bookstore.<br />

We need your help: <strong>Saint</strong> <strong>Thomas</strong> <strong>Church</strong> is again conducting our annual school supply<br />

drive for 70 underprivileged students in grades 1 – 8. Please contribute a backpack, supplies,<br />

or financial donations. Donations can be left at the reception desk before September 1.<br />

Your gift will make a significant positive impact to a less fortunate child.<br />

<strong>Saint</strong> <strong>Thomas</strong> Soup Kitchen volunteers gather every Saturday morning at 9:30 in the<br />

Parish House (One West Fifty-third Street). Approximately 300 bag lunches are prepared<br />

for distribution to the homeless along the streets of mid-Manhattan. Distribution is usually<br />

completed by 12:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to assist in this lay ministry. High school<br />

students are invited to earn three hours’ community service. For more information, please<br />

ADULT CHRISTIAN EDUCATION<br />

Our summer with Samuel continues weekly on Sundays at 10 a.m. on the fifth floor of the<br />

Parish House. Presently the class is studying rise of King David. There’s coffee and tea in<br />

the room every week, and visitors are welcome there also.


The Arts, Theology, and the Young: What's Happening? This fall Father Austin will<br />

have a few public conversations with some of our young adults who are making a career in<br />

the arts. Details will be announced soon.<br />
