Srilashree Shankara Yijayendra Saraswathi of the
Eanchi Eamakoti rfeth had with me on the above
subject in the small sacred hoars of the 9th instant
morning, and in the light of my discussions with
you subsequently on the same subject, this is to
clarify and request that both the T.T.Do and the
State G-overniaent be pleased + .c approve ary appropriate
sum as seemed fit for ohe amenixie^ of devotees and
pilgrims of the Balaji Mandir at Gauhati, commenced
under the aegis of the Kamakoti Math with the Oo-ope-
ratiou of the State Government of Assam. 3he image
sculpted from Olrupati is installed at the Balaji
fendir at Gauhati. Ziis is the first ever attempt
to foster and promote pilgrim-tourism between the
banks of the Brahmaputra and the Swarnamukhi« Such
a sublime cause of cultural and national unity,
does, no doubt, deserve and need a helping hand,
albeit symbolically, and of course, substantially
frora the T.T.D. and the State Government of Andhra
Pradesh.
