CURRENT WEEK MANAGEMENT INFORMATION
Tuesday June 23
- The 24 hour CPUE was 18 Chinooks this week compared to 5 Chinooks
last week.
The Bella Coola River IFF cummulative catch is ahead of 1990 and 1991
Week 25, 1990 - 497 drifts for 947 Chinook (1.9 Ch/drift)
1991 - 440 drifts for 867 Chinook (2.0 Ch/drift)
1992 - 605 drifts for 1381 Chinook (2.3 Ch/drift)
- The Bella Coola River IFF Chinook regression model is predicting an
escapement of approximately 24,000 Chinooks to the Atnarko River for
Week 25.
- The catch from the 11 vessels operating in 8-13 was recorded and
sampled for Coded Wire Tags separately from the rest of the area.
CURRENT WEEK RECOMMENDATION
Tuesday June 23
- To close the fishery as scheduled at 1800 hours June 23rd.
- The Chinook surplus can be harvested in an orderly manner by fishing
1 day this week.
NEXT WEEK'S RECOMMENDATION
Thursday June 25
- To open for 24 hours for gill nets in Sub-areas 8-3, 8-4, 8-5, 8-10,
8-11, 8-12 (North of Bensins Island) and 8-15 with a 149 mm mesh
restriction in place as outlined in the preseason fishing plans.
