CURRENT WEEK MANAGEMENT INFORMATION<br />
Tuesday June 23<br />
- The 24 hour CPUE was 18 Chinooks this week compared to 5 Chinooks<br />
last week.<br />
The Bella Coola River IFF cummulative catch is ahead of 1990 and 1991<br />
Week 25, 1990 - 497 drifts for 947 Chinook (1.9 Ch/drift)<br />
1991 - 440 drifts for 867 Chinook (<strong>2.</strong>0 Ch/drift)<br />
1992 - 605 drifts for 1381 Chinook (<strong>2.</strong>3 Ch/drift)<br />
- The Bella Coola River IFF Chinook regression model is predicting an<br />
escapement of approximately 24,000 Chinooks to the Atnarko River for<br />
Week 25.<br />
- The catch from the 11 vessels operating in 8-13 was recorded and<br />
sampled for Coded Wire Tags separately from the rest of the area.<br />
CURRENT WEEK RECOMMENDATION<br />
Tuesday June 23<br />
- To close the fishery as scheduled at 1800 hours June 23rd.<br />
- The Chinook surplus can be harvested in an orderly manner by fishing<br />
1 day this week.<br />
NEXT WEEK'S RECOMMENDATION<br />
Thursday June 25<br />
- To open for 24 hours for gill nets in Sub-areas 8-3, 8-4, 8-5, 8-10,<br />
8-11, 8-12 (North of Bensins Island) and 8-15 with a 149 mm mesh<br />
restriction in place as outlined in the preseason fishing plans.<br />
