6.3 Conversion table to ISCO-88
A conversion table is available from the Spanish CNO CNO-94 to ISCO-88. . This conversion table
converts from the most detailed llevel
of CNO-94 (4-digit) digit) to the most detailed level of ISCO-88 (4-
digit). A problem with the conversion table from CNO CNO-94 to ISCO-88 is that some ome CNO 44-digit
codes correspond to more than one ISCO 44-digit
digit code, and sometimes also correspond to more
than one ISCO 3-digit digit code (see Table 8 for some examples). On what grounds these CNO codes
are converted to which ISCO-88 88 code is unclear and makes cross cross-national national comparisons at the
minor level difficult. The ‘Armed forces’ in the CNO classification are divided into three unit groups,
which resembles the unit groups for this major group of the draft version of ISCO ISCO-08.

6.4 Overall conclusions of the Spanish NOC
The logic of the Spanish classification resembles the logic of the ISCO ISCO-88 88 and ISCO ISCO-08
which makes it easier to understand the underlining occupations in each unit groups. This makes it
not very difficult to adapt the changes being made in the new version of ISCO ISCO-08. 08. Whether the skill
specialization and skill levels, the two concepts both classifications were built upon, in the Spanish
classification resembles the skill specialization and skill levels according to ISCO has not yet been
empirically tested.
7. The National Occupational Classification in Poland
The Polish occupational classification (Klasyfikacja Zawodów i Specjalności) lności) was produced
for the first time by the Polish Ministry of Economy and Labour in 1983. The latest Polish
occupational classification was s produced in 2004.
