Although most Advantage inks are opaque, optimum opacity is achieved with Super Advantage inks which are formulated for optimal coverage. Advantage inks may be used to print cold peel transfers. Recommended Substrates Cotton, cotton blends, polyesters, and some nylon (generally open weave or mesh types) as well as other synthetics. Specifications Curing: Gel or flash-cure: Approximately 230 Degrees F/110 Degrees C. Full cure: 320 Degrees F/160 Degrees C. Transfer Temperature: 350 Degrees F/177 Degrees C. Fusion tests should be made prior to any production run. Failure to cure properly causes poor wash fastness, inferior adhesion and increased dye migration. Opacity : Excellent, use Super Advantage inks for maximum opacity. Squeegee: Use medium 70 durometer Wash-Up: SCP25 Textile Ink degrader or SCP17 Press Wipe. Mesh: Use 86-120 threads/in. or 34-49 threads/cm. for optimum opacity. Use 120-280 threads/in. or 49- 110 threads/cm. for overprinting and fine line printing. Use 110-280 threads/in. or 49-90 threads/cm. for printing onto white or light fabrics. For process colors use 305-355 threads/in. or 120-140 threads/cm. Use 86-120 threads/in. or 34-49 threads/cm. for cold peel transfers. Stencil: Conventional direct or capillary films. Trans Super colors give excellent opaque prints on dark fabrics and also offer wide improvements in printability and transfer latitude over conventional hot-split transfer inks. Using Trans Super ink, the printer is able to produce high definition transfers using fine screen meshes without losing opacity. Trans Super also can be used to produce conventional cold-peel transfers. PRINTER'S PARAMETERS Substrates Knitted fabrics, cotton, linens, polyester blends & rayon.NOT recommended for woven nylon or lycra. Mesh (standard opacity) 60-86 t/in (24-34 t/cm) Mesh (fine line) 110-195 t/in (43-77 t/cm) Transfer temp 365-375 F (185-190 C) Transfer time 5 to 7 seconds Transfer pressure 40-45 PSI Gel temp 195-230 F (90-110 C). Lower temps will result in a transfer with little tensile strength, and higher temps will negatively affect the "split" of the final transfer. BLEED RESISTANCE: Advantage Plus colors are increased opacity on dark, they are not bleed resistant.
