Loading Paper in <strong>the</strong> Cassettes<br />

The standard cassette will each hold plain paper, recycled paper or color paper. The standard cassette holds up to 500<br />

sheets of plain paper (80 g/m²).<br />

The following paper sizes are supported: Ledger, Letter-R, Letter, Legal, Statement-R, Oficio II, A3, B4, A4, A4-R, A5-R,<br />

B5, B5-R, Folio, 216 × 340 mm, 8K, 16K-R, and 16K.<br />

NOTE<br />

You should not use inkjet printer paper or any paper with a special surface coating. (Such paper may cause paper<br />

jams or o<strong>the</strong>r faults.)<br />

For clearer and brighter color copies, use <strong>the</strong> special color paper.<br />

When using media types o<strong>the</strong>r than plain paper (such as recycled or colored paper), always specify <strong>the</strong> media type<br />

setting. (Refer to Media Type on page 9-8) The cassettes can hold paper with weights up to 256 g/m². If you are using<br />

a paper weight between 106 and 256 g/m², set <strong>the</strong> media type to Thick.<br />

If <strong>the</strong> machine will not be used for a prolonged period, protect all paper from humidity by removing it from <strong>the</strong><br />

cassettes and sealing it in <strong>the</strong> paper storage bag.<br />

Adjust <strong>the</strong> cassette size.<br />

Adjust <strong>the</strong> cassette size to reflect <strong>the</strong> size of paper being loaded. Paper sizes are marked on<br />

<strong>the</strong> cassette.<br />

NOTE<br />

When using 11 × 17” (ledger) paper, lay <strong>the</strong> paper length guide down flat.<br />
