The Fear of the Lord Hates Arrogance<br />

8:13 timor Domini odit malum arrogantiam et superbiam et viam pravam et os bilingue detestor<br />

‘The fear of the Lord<br />

hates evil, arrogance, and pride,<br />

and I detest a vicious path<br />

and a lying tongue.<br />

8:14 meum est consilium et aequitas mea prudentia mea est fortitudo<br />

‘Counsel is mine,<br />

and equity;<br />

prudence mine,<br />

and strength is mine.<br />

8:15 per me reges regnant et legum conditores iusta decernunt<br />

‘Kings reign by me,<br />

and law-makers<br />

discern fairly.<br />

8:16 per me principes imperant et potentes decernunt iustitiam<br />

Princes command by me,<br />

and the powerful<br />

discern fairness.<br />

8:17 ego diligentes me diligo et qui mane vigilant ad me invenient me<br />

‘I delight<br />

in those delighting in me,<br />

and those<br />

who watch for me early<br />

will find me.<br />

8:18 mecum sunt divitiae et gloria opes superbae et iustitia<br />

‘Riches and glory<br />

are with me,<br />

works worthy of pride,<br />

and fairness.<br />

8:19 melior est fructus meus auro et pretioso lapide et genimina mea argento electo
