foster country-to-country/region synergy of approaches in re-orienting occupational/skills/<br />

competency st<strong>and</strong>ard setting, <strong>and</strong> <strong>HRD</strong> in companies.<br />

THE WORK OF THE CONFERENCE<br />

The conference was divided into a number of keynote sessions (each with its own technical<br />

panel), along with other introductory sessions. These <strong>for</strong>mal sessions involved, (i) a series of<br />

presentations on issues dealing with the development of NQFs <strong>and</strong> <strong>HRD</strong> strategies, <strong>and</strong> (ii)<br />

several national presentations highlighting devel-opment ef<strong>for</strong>ts, both related to the<br />

establishment of NQFs <strong>and</strong> <strong>Corporate</strong> <strong>HRD</strong>. Four working group sessions were designed to<br />

explore the issues raised in the keynote addresses <strong>and</strong> national presentations, <strong>and</strong> dealt with<br />

a series of specific questions related to each technical session <strong>and</strong> the follow-up discussions.<br />
