Vietnam offers three levels of vocational training:<br />
– Vocational elementary level<br />
– Vocational intermediate level<br />
– Vocational diploma<br />
In total, 35,000 teachers work in vocational institutions.<br />
In 2008, sixty sets of framework curricula were developed <strong>for</strong> sixty occupations. Subsequently,<br />
<strong>for</strong> each occupation, a framework curriculum has been developed. Skill st<strong>and</strong>ards are based<br />
on dem<strong>and</strong>-driven analysis.<br />
Methods of Skill Testing <strong>and</strong> Recognition <strong>for</strong> Vietnamese Labour<br />
Skill testing methods consist of the following:<br />
– Safety in work per<strong>for</strong>mance<br />
– Work experience <strong>and</strong> knowledge<br />
– Use of tools <strong>and</strong> equipment<br />
– Efficient <strong>and</strong> correct use of equipment <strong>and</strong> machines<br />
– Timely completion of work<br />
– Work output meet quality regulations<br />
Thus, they are designed to meet challenges such as:<br />
– Lack of experience<br />
– Regionalize <strong>and</strong> internationalize compatibility of st<strong>and</strong>ards<br />
– An assessment system<br />
– Capacity building <strong>for</strong> skill st<strong>and</strong>ard <strong>and</strong> assessment<br />
The proposal <strong>for</strong> cooperation includes:<br />
– Policy dialogue <strong>and</strong> exchange of experience<br />
– Capacity building <strong>and</strong> personal development<br />
– Knowledge <strong>and</strong> product transfer<br />
