first death; we shall not be revived. (35) Bring us our fathers, if you speak truly!' (36) Are
they better, or the people of Tubba' and those before them whom Wedestroyed? They
were surely sinners. They were surely sinners. (37) We created not the heavens and
earth, and all that between them is, in play; (38) We created them not save in truth; but
most of them know it not. (39) Surely the Day of Decision shall be their appointed time,
alltogether, (40) the day a master shall avail nothing a client, and they shall not be helped,
(41) save him upon whom God has mercy; He is the All-mighty, theAll-compassionate. (42)
Lo, the Tree of Ez-Zakkoum (43) is the food of the guilty, (44) like molten copper, bubbling
in the belly (45) as boiling water bubbles. (46) `Take him, and thrust him into the midst of
Hell, (47) then pour over his head the chastisement of boiling water!' (48) `Taste! Surely
thou art the mighty, the noble. (49) This is that concerning which you were doubting.' (50)
Surely the godfearing shall be in a station secure (51) among gardens and fountains, (52)
robed in silk and brocade, set face to face. (53) Even so; and We shall espouse them to
wide-eyed houris, (54) therein calling for every fruit, secure. (55) They shall not taste
therein of death, save the first death,And He shall guard them against the chastisement
of Hell-- (56) a bounty from thy Lord; that is the mighty triumph. (57) Now We have made it
easy by thy tongue, that haply they may remember. (58) So be on the watch; they too are

ﯽ ﺴﯿﻠﮕﻧا
ﻪﻤﺟﺮﺗ
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. Ha. Mim. (1) By the Scripture that
maketh plain (2) Lo! We revealed it on a blessed night. Lo! We are ever warning. (3)
Whereupon every wise command is made clear (4) As a command from Our presence. Lo!
We are ever sending (5) A mercy from thy Lord. Lo! He is the Hereafter, the Knower, (6)
Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if ye would be sure. (7)
There is no God save Him. He quickeneth and giveth death; your Lord and Lord of your
forefathers. (8) Nay, but they play in doubt. (9) But watch thou (O Muhammad) for the day
when the sky will produce visible smoke (10) That will envelop the people. This will be a
painful torment. (11) (Then they will say): Our Lord relieve of the torment. Lo! we are
believers: (12) How can there be remembrance for them, when a messenger making plain
(the truth) had already come unto them, (13) And they had turned away from him and said:
One taught (by others), a madman? (14) Lo! We withdraw the torment a little. Lo! ye return
(to disbelief). (15) On the day when We shall seize them with the greater seizure (then), in
