Growing up in <strong>the</strong> North East, Jill was introduced to<br />
traditional home cooking at an early age where she<br />
developed a life-long interest in food. This passion for<br />
cooking led her into a career as a home economist, where<br />
she has developed her skills and expertise whilst working<br />
in <strong>the</strong> food Industry for many years.<br />
Her freelance work now<br />
includes developing and<br />
testing new recipes, food<br />
styling, and teaching<br />
cookery. She can also be<br />
seen throughout <strong>the</strong><br />
country demonstrating<br />
and presenting her recipe<br />
ideas.<br />
Jill also works regularly with many well-known TV chefs,<br />
helping <strong>the</strong>m during cookery demonstrations at food<br />
festivals and events, She can also be found behind <strong>the</strong><br />
scenes on many TV programmes and commercials,<br />
ensuring <strong>the</strong> food looks perfect for <strong>the</strong> camera!<br />

Ann has been baking for many years and says her earliest<br />
childhood memories are of <strong>the</strong> aroma of freshly baked<br />
bread wafting from her mo<strong>the</strong>r’s kitchen.<br />
Baking is a joy to Ann and she enjoys passing on <strong>the</strong> skills<br />
needed to produce delicious bread to o<strong>the</strong>rs. She runs<br />
workshops from her home in North Shields with <strong>the</strong> aim of<br />
inspiring a new generation of home bakers.<br />
Her award-winning breads are on sale at <strong>Tynemouth</strong>’s Deli<br />
Around <strong>the</strong> Corner and at farmers’ markets, and her rye<br />
sourdough with seeds has won a prestigious Great Taste<br />
gold star from <strong>the</strong> Guild of Fine <strong>Food</strong>s.<br />

Despite now being a restaurateur, Bill began his working<br />
life as an engineer serving as an officer in <strong>the</strong> merchant<br />
navy. His travels around <strong>the</strong> world stimulated his already<br />
embryonic interest in food. So, in 1996 he sought a<br />
complete change of direction and gained a quick<br />
“apprenticeship” in catering by working voluntarily in<br />
restaurants around <strong>the</strong> UK.<br />
In 1997 he opened his first restaurant in Barnard Castle,<br />
County Durham, which quickly gained acclaim by winning<br />
<strong>the</strong> Les Routiers Gold Plate award for quality, service and<br />
value in its first three years.<br />
Bill has had restaurants<br />
throughout <strong>the</strong> North East, all<br />
based on <strong>the</strong> principle of real<br />
British food made from locally<br />
sourced ingredients. Now<br />
based in Durham, Oldfields<br />
has launched a range of ready<br />
meals under <strong>the</strong> banner of<br />
Oldfields’ Pantry.<br />
They’re sourced and cooked with <strong>the</strong> same ethos as<br />
everything else and are available from <strong>the</strong> restaurant, via<br />
<strong>the</strong>ir website or from Fenwick <strong>Food</strong> Hall in Newcastle.<br />
