iii) The employment of the person with the same operator;<br />
iv) Completing a standardization flight annually with a P<strong>CAA</strong> Inspector.<br />
Note: An approval so granted shall be cancelled if the above requirements are<br />
not met.<br />
e) A person shall not be approved to the appointment of CP, if: he/she has:<br />
i) Been blamed for any flying incident/accident in the past two years;<br />
ii) Been penalized for any violation of CARs, ANOs, or any regulatory<br />
instructions in the past two years;<br />
iii) Not maintained a satisfactory record in the conduct of operational<br />
management.<br />
4.2.4 Duties and Responsibilities<br />
4.2.4.1 The CP shall have control of all flight crew training and operational matters<br />
affecting the safety of the flying operations of the operator. The duties and<br />
responsibilities of a CP shall, unless the competent authority otherwise specifies<br />
in writing include the following:<br />
a) Ensuring that the operator's air operations are conducted in compliance<br />
with the CARs, ANOs, ANs, ASCs, <strong>AOC</strong> Guide, operations manual and<br />
other orders / instructions issued from time to time;<br />
b) Arranging flight crew rosters;<br />
c) Maintaining a record of licenses, ratings, medical fitness and route<br />
qualifications held by each flight crew member, including fitness and<br />
route qualification, validity, recency, type endorsements and any<br />
applicable restrictions imposed on the license;<br />
d) Maintaining a system to record flight crew duty and flight times to ensure<br />
compliance with duty and flight time limitations, in accordance with<br />
CARs and operations manual;<br />
e) Ensuring compliance with loading procedures specified for each aircraft<br />
type used by the operator and proper completion of loading documents,<br />
including passengers and cargo manifests;<br />
f) Monitoring operational standards, maintaining training records and<br />
supervising the training and checking of flight crew of the operator;<br />
g) Conducting proficiency tests in the execution of emergency procedures;<br />
h) Training flight crew in the acceptance and handling of dangerous goods;<br />
i) Maintaining a complete and up-to-date reference library of operational<br />
documents as required for the class of operations conducted.<br />
j) Allocating appropriate aircraft.<br />
k) Submit returns (RCN) accurately and in time to the P<strong>CAA</strong>.<br />
l) Keep the company operations manual updated.<br />
m) Issue orders and instructions in form of Flying Orders for ensuring safety<br />
of operations where necessary.<br />
n) Conduct test and checks whenever assigned by competent authority.<br />
o) Summarily prohibit or suspend a person from flying in company aircraft<br />
or cause him to be recalled when the person is engaged in piloting the<br />
aircraft if the persons conduct or actions are likely, in the CP opinion, to<br />
endanger the continued safety of flying operations or prejudice the<br />
Company's reputation and flying standards.<br />
4.3 <strong>Air</strong>craft Flight Crew<br />
4.3.1 Flight Crew Composition<br />
a) The number and composition of the flight crew shall not be less than that<br />
specified in the <strong>Air</strong>craft Flight Manual and certificate of airworthiness.<br />
b) Where an operator considers it essential to conduct two pilot operation, and the<br />
aircraft is certified for single pilot operation, may with prior approval of the P<strong>CAA</strong><br />
carry an additional pilot, provided the aircraft is equipped and the duties are<br />
specified in the operations manual.<br />
