Asiatic mind ? Let Americans pause in their<br />

" in the East ? Surely it is the duty<br />

of the Legislature to do a great right, even at<br />

the expense of doing a little 1 wrong If women<br />

of ill-fame are kept out of the East and lose<br />

their unsavoury trade, compensate them with<br />

coin nobody will miss, and save the honour of<br />

the nation and the reputation of the womanhood<br />

of the nation in the eyes of the Asiatics
