• <strong>Benign</strong>, elevated, pink to purplish-red<br />

papule, with a slightly scaly surface<br />

• Usually appears on the face, especially the<br />

cheeks, trunk, and extremities<br />

• Most often occurs before puberty<br />

• Has been mistaken for M.M<br />

• Difficult to distinguish from melanoma<br />

(atypical melanocytes)
