RESOLUTION NO. 08-XXX, SERIES 2008
RESOLUTION TO AMEND THE GENERAL PLAN OF THE CITY OF DAVIS
TO REDESIGNATE TWO PARCELS LOCATED AT 555 AND 603 L STREET,
CONSISTING OF APPROXIMATELY 1.45 ACRES, FROM “GENERAL COMMERCIAL”
AND “LOW DENSITY RESIDENTIAL” TO “PUBLIC/SEMI-PUBLIC”
WHEREAS, the two parcels (Assessor’s Parcel Numbers: 070-360-029 and 070-344-009) consisting
of approximately 1.45 acres located at 555 and 603 L Street, as shown in Exhibit A, are currently
designated “General Commercial” and “Low Density Residential” on the General Plan Land Use Map;
and
WHEREAS, amending the General Plan land use designation for the subject parcels to
“Public/Semi-Public” will be consistent with new zoning, and applicable policies and plans;
WHEREAS, the Public/Semi-Public designation will provide an appropriate, centrally-located site for
community facilities and public/semi-public uses; and
WHEREAS, the General Plan Amendment is appropriate in that it is compatible and consistent with
existing and adjacent uses.
WHEREAS, the General Plan Amendment will not adversely impact the general welfare of residents
or businesses within the area; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held a duly noticed public hearing on February 27, 2008 to
receive comments and consider amendments to the General Plan and voted 6 to 0 to recommend
adoption of the amendment; and
WHEREAS, the City Council held a duly noticed public hearing on March 18, 2008 and based on oral
testimony and documentary evidence reviewed during the public hearing, determined that the Initial
Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration prepared for the project adequately addresses the potential
environmental impacts of the project and the appropriate findings were made and adopted Resolution
No. 08-038 declaring their intent to amend the General Plan of the City of Davis to redesignate the land
use for the two properties at 555 and 603 L Street from “General Commercial” and “Low Density
Residential” to “Public/Semi-Public”; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Davis that the General
Plan of the City of Davis is hereby amended to redesignate the land use for the two subject properties
from “General Commercial” and “Low Density Residential” to “Public/Semi-Public”, as shown in
Exhibit A:
