Activity 6-8<br />

Objective<br />

The student should be able to discuss and compare/contrast the legends of the Native<br />

American and the Greek legends of Ursa Major, Ursa Minor, Cassiopeia, and<br />

Orion.<br />

Procedure<br />

• Discuss and compare Native American Mythology with Greek mythological<br />

origins of selected constellations.<br />

• Students may be divided into groups for research and presentation of constellation<br />

origin: Native American and Greek. Presentations can be given in the<br />

STARLAB.<br />

• STARLAB Portable Planetarium<br />

• Projector<br />

• Starfield Cylinder<br />
