Princess Charlotte. H.M.S. Princess Charlotte was Admiral Stopford's flagship. This lot forms part of a family group; see also lot 170. 2 A Syria and Long Service Pair: Thomas Fielding, Naval General Service 1793-1840, 1 clasp, Syria; Royal Naval Long Service and Good Conduct Medal, wide suspender type (Cap ns Cox n H.M.S. Algiers. 21 y s ), a few surface and edge knocks, generally very fine (2) £600-700 N.G.S. Roll confirms, H.M.S. Implacable; not in Captain Douglas Morris's roll for the L.S. & G.C. H.M.S. Implacable was originally the French ship Duguay-Trouin captured at the Battle of Trafalgar. This lot forms part of a family group; see also lot 162 3 St. Jean d' Acre Medal, 1840, rim engraved in serif capitals, John Thayer, H.M.S. 'Stromboli', with contemporary straight bar suspension, heavy contact wear, fine £250-300 JOHN THAYER appears on the Naval General Service Roll for the Syria clasp (Private, R.M.). H.M.S. Stromboli was a 6 gun paddle sloop.
